Located on the Third Floor of the College of Business, the Computer Lab encompasses 13,000 square feet and receives well over 300,000 student visits annually. Open to all students from the University, there are at least 100 seats dedicated to "Open Access" at any given point in time. When classes are not in session, the instructional classrooms are available for "overflow". Hours of Operation
The normal posted hours during the Academic Year (Fall, Winter
and Spring Terms) are:
Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Summer Hours:
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday CLOSED
Sunday CLOSED
The Lab is closed on all academic school
holidays and during quarter breaks.
We are open during Summer quarter, contingent on funding; during past summers we have been open six days a week.
Please be sure to sign in at the Control Area when you use the facility; we closely monitor Lab usage and ask that you sign in each time you enter. Thanks in advance!
Computer Lab Help Desk Information
The College of Business Computer Lab Staff is available for specific
software and hardware assistance questions.

Classes Offered
Free classes are available to any student currently enrolled at
Cal Poly; please check the Computer Lab Help Desk for the most
current schedule available. Topics include: Access, PowerPoint,
OpenMail, HTML and Creating Your "Home Page" and other specialty
topic classes from time to time.
Internet Resources
We offer numerous commercial services via the Web; for example:
Dow Jones Interactive, Lexis-Nexis Universe, STAT-USA/Internet,
Zacks "University Analyst Watch", CHECKPOINT Tax Accounting Databases
and more. Due to licensing provisions, selected commercial services
mentioned here are available only in the College of Business Computer
Lab.
Specific databases include a wealth of accounting databases (FASB, GASB, AICPA materials, etc.)

Fax and Printing Services
Fax services are available at the Computer Lab Front Desk as you
first enter the Lab:

Printing in the COB Computer Lab is available to students with PolyCard Printing. In an effort to reduce waste and lower operating costs, printing in OPEN ACCESS computer labs on campus is no longer free. Cal Poly Students are each allotted 10 free pages per quarter. Additional pages are 10 cents each, and these fees are deducted from your Campus Express Club using your PolyCard (Cal Poly ID). If you have not done so already, you will need to activate Campus Express Club on your card. It only takes seconds to activate your PolyCard. Stop by the Customer Service at the entrance to the Light House (Bldg. 19) -- If you have a Meal Plan or Campus Express Club membership, your PolyCard is already activated.
